Hello World


Hello World, 

At the time of writing this no one knows about this game, I don't even fully know what it is. I do however have a vision, one that I have held onto for a very long time. I have a plot, I have themes, and I have a direction, but other than that I have no tangible things that represent the game.

I have little experience in any of the technical parts of game development, having only utilized conceptual skill like level design and scripting. And as a one person team, that means I do not yet have the skills to make the game. Although I have worked in the indie game community before (only enough to know that this devlog sounds meandering, and personal to the point of ineptitude lol), this will be my first time trying to create a completely original, high quality game. This is a big project for me, and will be a big journey. 

Rainfall, is a love letter to the dark and brooding Pixelated Indie Horror RPGs of the 2010s, a niche genre of games that captivated me and my imagination. It's also a deeply personal project, to the point where I'd almost feel uncomfortable if a lot of people played it. Thee again I always got the impression that those games, like Ib (2012), The Witch's House (2012), and more recently; Lily's Well (2021), always had personal stories, or at least stories that were crafted to resonate with people personally. 

They all thematically touched on the unpleasant aspects of life through a pulpy and lurid filter with nauseating accuracy. I intend to take the genre's best attributes and darkest moments and bend it into my twisted image, and deliver a contemporary horror RPG experience thats wholly unique but littered with homage.

This game's development and success (or lack there of), will determine wether I dedicate any time to passion projects in the future. I've given myself until December 25th of this year to complete the project. 

The game is currently predevelopment stages.
